Destination - Reykjavík

Let’s fly somewhere we belong

From the reflection of my life the thing I enjoyed the most in being a barista was those short moments like I was flying, I felt like I had an intentional lifestyle. After working in 1 place for years, the experience was becoming repetitive, and I felt like I could use a change. I made a decision that I will move to Iceland, with the intention to be a barista one more time.

So when I got into the airplane, all I had was a room that I was lucky to find by a random question to one of my friends. I got into the airplane with 50 CV printed and I just had a wish that everything would work out.

And it did.

So I landed in Keflavik airport, got into a bus, and I was in Reykjavík bus station. From there I took a 20 minute walk to my room that became my new home and went to sleep. In the morning, I met with a friend. She was so generous to answer all my questions, and meet with me in a coffee shop close to my new home. She filled me in on the situation in Iceland, then Her boyfriend picked us up by a car, and they left me next to the main street of Reykjavík. The buildings in all the colors, and the unknown all around me, are very important moments in my life.

Looking for job

I’ve reached Laugavegur, and after a long time of planning, I knew that I need some employer that will make a Kennitala application for me. Kennitala is a social identification number that is needed to work in Iceland. At first, I thought that it would be very hard to get, but I found one. The beginning of going through transformative moments and facing life's challenges.

It happened, my dream came true.
